hello, i am thinking i might need a 22 revolver, anyone have some advice? do most come with a 22 WMR cylinder as well?

what i am looking for is a nice, accurate revolver that shoots cheap ammo. since we can't hunt with handguns in our country, i see no need for anything with a bunch of power.

I have a Ruger single six and the accuracy is ok but I wouldn't call it a tack driver, it shoots best with magnums. I have shot a few S&W M-17's and some of them were very accurate and others were ok but not tackdrivers.
 
Rugers in single action and double action are well made and parts are available in Canada, if any thing should happen to break or get lost during any disassembly. The same can be said about S&W revolvers. For the .22 magnum cylinder you pretty much have to go with a Ruger single action, (push a button ,pull a pin ,remove cylinder, assemble in reverse)although in the past S&W had extra cylinders for some models(don't know if they still do). There are all sorts of revolvers available on the market and although most of them will last just about forever, they don't have such a big market that there is any parts available for the minor repairs that may be required eventually. You can't go wrong with either Ruger or S&W, buy which ever feels the best in your hand.
 
Are you looking for single action or double action?

My Ruger Single Six is pretty neat, the switchable cylinder is a nice feature. I also like it's more "cowboy" styled than others.

Buy a S&W 617 with the 10-shot cylinder and don't look back. It is a fantastic revolver! Pricier than some others, but definitely worth it. But to answer your second question, no most revolvers don't come with both a .22LR and .22WMR cylinders. As far as I know, only the Ruger single six comes with both.
 
I have had 2 different single six's. The 5.5I nch bbl was ok. I appreciated the accuracy out of the 6.5 in bbl much more. I dont really think that an inch makes that huge of a difference. Maybe it was just the ballance, or maybe it was that my 6.5 inch S6 was an earlier model that the 5.5.

Couldnt say for sure.

But both of them were fun.
