Best .223 under $600

no its because i have two kids and no dedicated room, and I figure if I am going to make explosives I would need a room. Also the reason for .223 is that I don't want to stock another caliber as i already get flack for the 8-9k in ammo I have laying around lol.

Is that because you know that once you start, you can't stop? :D

For under $600 in 223, I can't think of too many choices. A stevens 200 can be had for about $319 at Kenora Canadian tire. I've seen Rem SPS for about $599.

I'd also give thought to an Marlin XS7 in 243. Just because everyone says they shoot great and it comes with an adjustable trigger for around $400 or so. 243 is a pretty versatile caliber. No XS7 in 223 as yet though.

Look for a good used one in the EE will get more bang for your buck. can''t go wrong with Tikka or Sako if you can find one.

I have both a mini 14 and a stevens 200 and they are both two of my favourite most used guns. the stevens is nice cause for the price you get a lot of gun and more money for ammo and optics which are just as important and often overlooked. Stevens 200 with a burris fullfield or cheap leaupold, nikon, bushnell 3200 or something around there is going to give you a great 600 dollar rifle

Correct! Cabelas has them for $599 and until the end of the year you get a $40 mail in rebate from Remington. For $560 you can't go wrong.

For me it was adding a new never fired $200.00 21" s/s factory 223 barrel to my T/C Contender carbine collection with 40gr V-Max and when condiditions are good I consitantly get 1 1/4" - 2" 300 yard 3 shot groups with it.
