Hey all; In my city we have recently been doing .22LR action shooting (IPSC style) events, involving manouvering to different targets on a course, shooting stationary clays or bowling pins, all while timed. I currently use a GSG16, and it has not been reliable ever since Ive owned it a couple of years ago..Ran different ammo, mostly the same result. Fail to fire/light strike, causing me to have to reload and clear the failure. What are you running for a competition style Semi 22.LR? There were a few Derya's out today, they seemed to be decent..Ruger 10/22 in various chassis..

I am looking for suggestions on a quality .22LR semi auto for competitions. Thanks!

I cannot comment on the Derya, but it may be the better option if you want to run it straight out of the box.

If you want to dive down the rabbit hole of building up a rifle there are endless possibilities with the 10/22. I built a 10/22 for the X/22 competition. The biggest issue I had was upgrading the trigger. I started with a Volquartsen HP Action Kit but had some problems with it. I think this was due to the polymer trigger housing. Swapped it out for a Timney trigger pack which was better but initially didn’t reset fast enough for the steel challenge stages.

For Speed Steel I use a Ruger 10/22 with a Timney trigger and the factory barrel without issues. I tried a Match barrel with a Bentz chamber and it was problems mainly FTE.

It is hard to beat the good old Ruger 10/22.

I put an SBI barrel with S&J liner compensator on mine and it literally cannot be beat!

Some VQ trigger stuff in a Magpul x-22 stock makes for a reliable and inexpensive combination. I shoot Blaser ammo without any issues.
