I'm gonna try two new bullets in my 257 Roberts this year. 110gr Accubonds and 120gr Hornady HPs.

Everyone knows about the ABs, but the Hornadys are a heavy HP that were designed for big game and have a reputation for accuracy. Some older shooters I've asked about them swear by them, having used them before the current batch of premiums showed up. I think they might be a good bullet with the lower velocity the Roberts offers.
This is one batch of Hornadys I tried this morning. I also tried some Nosler ABs, but they didn't group as well.

Explain to me how that failed than? failed to what? failed to stay together, but didnt fail to kill rapidly...

bullet failure can be many things but its basically either - overexpansion & fragmentation, or underexpansion & pencil effect. Most failures are the former

Im saying - when a bullet hits the animal and starts to shred itself, it doesnt usually fail to kill the animal, but it fail to hold together. Some bullets are designed to do this and you listed some.

With regards to this topic - 2506 bullet for 150 yard deer hunting - I feel a stoutly constructed bullet would be the best choice, given the high impact velocities. A ballistic tip or gameking could lead to some messy results, or a lost deer, if the angle isnt perfect. WHy risk it over 25 cents per bullet price?

Looks good. I'll have to try some of the Hornady 120gr HP's. Have you tried any of the three Hornady 117gr bullets? I have a scan of the target I shot with my .25-06 using the Sierra 117gr SBT but I haven't figured out how to post yet. Any day now.
