Best 25 Round Rimfire Mag?

If you were designing a clean sheet design rimfire rifle and could use any brand/type of 25 round mag, what would it be? My choice so far is the BDM AR-22 mag, I use them in my M4 with a CMMG conversion kit and they are trouble free, reliable and not too nasty to load along with not being too pricey.

What is your choice for the best 25 round rimfire mag available?

I've only got 10/22 rifles, so my first choice has been BT Steel Lips..
I hear Tactical Innovations are nice, but pricey and generally have to add shipping to boot..
I guess I really haven't tried others - these ones feed without issues particularly, price is reasonable, easy to find, BT LOADER ROCKS!!!

Don't you mean BC (Butler Creek)?? :confused:
 
I've used Butler Creek (steel lip) and Shooter's Ridge (plastic lip), and a Shooter's Ridge loader. The BC mag shoots great, the Shooter's Ridge is alright but was useless at purchase. I had to sand a good amount of plastic off the back where it was catching the bolt, to make more of a ramp. Looking at the two side by side, I think it was a manufacturing defect, I assume it won't affect all of them.
 
I like steel lips bc mags also, but they are overpriced a bit if u consider how many they mass produce and sell. Remington can make and sell a 25 rounder for the 597 and sell them for 1/3 the price. The bc steel lips have seem to gone up in price alot lately, and yet our dollar is worth more.......Sure fuel has gone up, but we are'nt talking about shipping something big and heavy. I pay less for a 5/30 round all alloy mag for my cz-858 and they come from Europe, and are 3 times the size, and 3 times stronger, made from aluminum, with no cheap plastic.

If someone would come up with a $25 steel feed lip 25 rounder, I would give them a try.
 
The most trouble free mags I have used in a bunch of 10/22 are the promag alloy 32rds.

Next up are the BC hot lips from years back. I have used some recent steel and they are hit and miss depending on how well the lips are molded and the fit with the ever changing trigger group.

TI mags have a solid rep BUT I have had poor performance in MY 10/22's. YMMV on this one.

The generic banana mag is bulk produced and QC varies from run to run. If the platform will use a 10/22 mag, just play with the various options and you will find one that works.

I have two BC steel lip 25 rounders. Recently (last six months or so) one is less reliable than the other. I have a few BC steel lip ten rounders (yes the short banana see-thru mag) As I've heard it through the grape vine, they are very reliable as well. Next summer I should be able to confirm this during gopher shooting sessions.

I don't think they ship to Canada anymore. Unless they changed that. I few years back they canceled shipping to us due to too much business in their own country, and they said they would begin shipping to Canada again at a unspecified date.
I bought my Tac Inc back when they still dealt with us, the CNC machining is a thing of beauty, and the anodizing is perfect.
They are pricey at $65, and after shipping and duty I paid close to $100 for one mag, but I don't regret it, and will never sell mine.:D
