Best 30-30 Ever Made.

Well I wasn't going to get into it, but why I really tend to prefer the Marlins over the Winchesters is because of how easily it is to strip down a Marlin. I'm not talking about taking down to the 3 "assemblies" like you do with a Winchester: I mean dismantling the receiver and bolt. I can't remember how many different disclaimers I've read about only stripping a Winnie down so far. Marlins on the other hand are incredibly easy to both strip and reassemble with just a leatherman and a rock.

Topped off with the Winchester letting crap in from the top of the action, plus the lever rattle and the action "spilling its guts" out the bottom every time you work the lever... I'll take my Marlin. The Winchesters do have a really sleek profile though.

You know, I like most lever actions, and this little Marlin is right near the top. If you were going to make comparisons with other lever action designs the least you could have done was to mention the best. The Savage 1899. :D

I have owned 6 99's over the years and I kick myself in the a$$ everytime it leaves. Great guns.
