Best .40 cal. pistol, feedback wanted!!!

Glock 22, S&W M&P, Springfield XD40.

What he said. M&P PRO/Glock 35 if you intend to play IDPA/IPSC with enthusiasm. The M&P Pro would require less further outlay to be competition ready. Best though is tough to define as in "Best for what? I went with the M&P's primarily because of a better grip for me and the fact I could shoot lead without having to change barrels. Your mileage likely will vary.

Thanks, nice picks. Already got a M&P9, love it! I'll check out the springfield... a glock is always in the back of my mind.

Tried to get the M&P Pro, local dealer couldn't deliver, went with the 9 range kit. Ran 300 rounds thru, flawless and accurate.

Look at the Sig P226R in .40 S&W. I bought mine from P&D Enterprises, in Edmonton. It was marked as used, but it looked new....absolutely Mint Condition, (less than 100 rounds through it) for just under $800.00. It came with the Factory Plastic Carrying Case. Sig makes a Tactical Flashlight (with strobe function)(especially made for the Sig P226R) and Blackhawk makes a locking detent Holster made especially for the Sig P226R with this Flashlight installed. I really like the P226R De-Cocking Safety Lever for 1 Bullet in the Chamber. This is my favorite Handgun, Light and Holster setup.

+1 for the Sig P226.....If you can find a good deal on a used one. If not.....M&P

I own the S&W .40 range kit. Great deal for the price. Gun shoots flawlessly and accurate. Grip is nice and the changeable backstraps guarantees a fit. Very easy to take down and clean as well. I am not an expert by any means but that's my experience.
