Hey there, I just put up another thread on acquiring a certain .45LC revolver but if that doesn't work out I want to know your opinions on the best revolver in .45 LC. I'm just going to be shooting at the range and possibly hand loading as I heard its a great cartridge for that. I will add extra details if needed. Thanks.
First, we have to know the maximum $$$$ you want to spend!
Onei, makes a good point. Are you looking SA or DA/SA?
Firstly, drop the long part. Technically incorrect. 45 Colt.
Ruger Vaquero is an excellent choice well in your price range. Not a Peacemaker copy inside though. For that, in your price range, you will have to look into the italian copies. Uberti makes a lot of nice stuff.
Yes, 45 colt is a great cartridge to reload, if fact, my favorite.
It is a great cartridge for re-loading because factory ammo is about $1.00/round, if you cast your own bullets the cost drops to less than 10 cents/ round.
If you can't find what you want in an open top then there are lots of makers producing 1873 clones, Ruger,Beretta,Uberti,Pietta and Chaparral to mention a few.
The 1873 Single Action Army (The gun that won the west) here is a picture of a Uberti 1873 Cattleman with "Antique Finish" .45 Colt...my favourite gun at the moment:

Not sure what SA or DA/SA means. Care to explain?
