Best 45acp for the buck

CanadaAmmo has the unmarked 1911 gun for $299.99. Best 1911 deal going, IMO.
I've had several and all had a good fit, finish and accuracy. Bought mine when they had the gun/ammo deal going.
Kept the ammo and sold all but two of the guns. Put a Kimber .22 conversion kit on one, works well.

True and for that price you could have a gunsmith tweak it a bit...and buy extra ammo...

I bought a bunch of those back when they came with the ammo too, and they were a great deal because of the ammo, but I don't think I'd buy just the gun for $300. They are a good base for building on, but pretty rough for someone that just wants to buy a gun and shoot it. I'm keeping one of mine original just because, but the other onesare nothing like how they came, and the price of parts alone is getting up there. If a guy has to pay a gunsmith for the work, it could easily end up way over the OP's budget of $1000. If you can find someone that still has the ammo and wants to sell that with the gun, then you could do pretty good. I just bough what was left of a guy's case (950 rounds) for $250 because he sold the gun for $300 after putting 50 rounds through it.

I just bought one of the DA 1911s, should have it late this week. I bought the 'chrome' finish one. I hope its shiny chrome.

anyway, looks like a good deal, we'll see how it is.

sorry to bud in, but what is a SAM?

Shooters Arms Manufacturing, they make 1911's in the Philippines that are imported by Wolverine Supplies. They are supposed to be a bunch better than the Norinco's for not much more money. I have one that I haven't shot yet, but fit and finish is much better than my Norinco's.

Thank you. Never saw them before for some reason. I do like the stainless one.

Another vote for SR1911. bought it used on this forum and couldn't be happier. very accurate. only down side is that it does require more time for maintenance compared to other modern design. If that's a problem, I can vouch for glock 21 and 41 as well, shot 21 Gen 3 and own 41 Gen 4. Both are amazing gun requires little cleaning time.

SAM 1911 - great 1911. Out of the box, accurate. I have the Tactical Commander version. I've done a couple of upgrades on it (Hogue grip, Ed Brown maxiwell) with no issues with the aftermarket parts fitting.

Bought a Norinco from Canadaammo recently to hopefully do a custom 1911 build.
