Diemaco C8A2HB - Trusted my life to this one in Afghanistan and it brought me through. Single handedly the best issue rifle I have ever shot. I have also shot a few other however this is my favorite. So Hands down this one

AK's have been availbe in 5.56 for many years. However, technically the AK-47 was only in 7.62x39.

My vote goes for the R4 main difference over the Galil would be the brown paint light enough, accurate out to 300 and reliable as the tax man.

Yes this thread was about "Assault Rifles" Hope noone was offended. The 5.56 AK"s had to be added as I was compelled to add the AK series in the Assault Rifle debate.

I also like the Daewoo K1A1 but doubted that they would be very well known. Interestng results.
