The kalishnakov variants are obviously the most prolific 7.62 rifle used in "military" applications throughout the world and have been for decades.

Tough one. I can't decide. So many choices we can't have anymore. I'd say Galil, FN-Para, G-3/HK91 in regards to 762 x 51. If you allow 762 x 39's, I'd take any of the "100" series AK's in that calibre, of which semi-auto variants are available in the US.

I have, and I would vote AR-10. Then FN-FAL. Then I would ask to try a Galil and a BM-59 before committing to No. 3.
