Yep, had one many years ago. I liked many things about it, the grooved brass wasn't a problem, and it's my highly subjective opinion.
Also I knew the Galil (tho in 5.56), both metric and imperial FALs, and c/a M14's (presently using of course an M14s, which I'm enjoying immensely... ) The fudds LOVED me, back in the day.. lol
I simply will choose the G3 as an idiosyncrasy of my online persona, Kayser Sose.

Like anything, pluses and minuses;
I really liked the sights. Liked the idea of the fluted chamber, couldn't say that I ever put the fun through paces that would have proved the idea... maybe a touch hard on the brass, not that I 'member...
Two ways to get the mag out. Neat, and nice mags.
Really easy to disassemble.
Some demerits then; filthy rifle, no last shot hold-open, awkward to #### (at first).
Had an HK sling; hunting was the shiznit with that add-on...
What do you prefer regards the AR10?

That updated FAL video looks amazing!
I'm going to have to say the FAL takes the cake for me, ill admit iv never shot one but hot damn! They had so much right going for them. Followed up by the M14 for pure ease of design, and the ability to give any one with any experience with a hunting rifle it And they could smack zombies.

I have to agree with BR.
I have a sweet spot in my heart for the FAL but with current technology I'd put the M-110 ahead of it.

All I can add here is that our M14 Blackfeather's sub-MOA accuracy, it's balance, it's lightweight and its new, configurable options, adds a new affordable and accessible battlerifle option to the Canadian landscape. I'lll take what I can afford. I'll take what is available. Therefore, we can dream, but maybe the better question is what is the most affordable battlerifle option in Canada that we can own, in 7.62x51, NOW? (And throw in 8, 5/20s as well!) Heh heh... .
