**** best 7mm single shot rifle made. Ruger #1 ? !! plz help , i need more guns!!!

More aftermarket Parts for the Endeavor ? Maybe there is a longer base available that would allow you to setup a third set of rings...of course you would also have to find a scope that can handle it...

Why not get one of these?
Mine's in 6.5X55, but they sell the boomers as well!:D

May I ask why a single shot ? Why not a good bolt action?

You sir, are not a connoisseur of fine single shots, I am, but can't afford the ones I covet,A fine single shot has the lines, the shape, the history...things that can't be described but are things that no boltgun has.

Shocking!
Ben, I'd have expected you to know that Martini and Hagn are Canadian guns! Kinda pricey, too.
Blaser makes a decent single shot, by all accounts.

Martini and Hagn have parted ways. They are both out in their own shops now. The original Hagn single shot was actually designed by Adolf Martin Hagn when he still lived in Germany...but he manufactured them in Canada for years. Now I believe Hartmann & Weiss make the Hagn actions as well in return for supplying him with H&W bolt actions to build rifles on.

If your into spending $5000 buy more barrels/bases/scopes for your Encore I have 6 barrels for my Contenders.

Get a #1, do custom engravings, and source out some killer wood for it, and it'll look just as pimp as the next Euro gun.

Besides, you should shoot a double anyway :D

Hey Starpuss funny you put this thread up I just bought a No1 in 7mm Remington Magnum as a gift for my fathers retirement, only I plan on putting a VX-7L 3.5-14x56 Boone and Crockett Big Game reticle Leupold on it. I'll post some pictures once it's in. Obviously I think you should get the No 1. Good Luck

well , i am going to buy a Ruger #1 , get some nice custom engraving done , and a old school looking scope. should cost maybe 1400 for the gun, engraving $400-800 and scope 1000.00+-
Here's one I had Denny Saunderson engrave for me.
The Anschutz logo on the one side was because the rifle had an Anschutz barrel on it ( but THAT is another story!)

She does wonderful work, but unfortunately is out of the trade now.
BE WARNED!! Rugers have SUPER hard receivers, and you are going to pay extra for that!

The Hagn will run you 15 to 18k $. I second the suggestion to get a no 1, and restock it with some high end lumber.

If I was putting out that much $$, I'd go with a 7x57 instead of a 7RM, just cuz its cooler...
Ditto on that one.
Although I'd really like a No1 in 280 Rem.
Out of interest, are the triggers on new No1s adjustable and if not are they ok out of the box?

I picked up a Bruno Single shot in 7X65R, I do not believe they made very many of these. It is the only one I have seen so far. I also have a couple of Rugers which are good guns and they do have adjustable triggers. Mine are all in large calibers. The Bruno I have not shot yet but one of these days. The person I got it from had shot and it and was very happy with it.
