Don't have any 1911s at the moment, had many in the the past but have a habit of selling them. For a while been thinking about getting one in 9mm, something in mid price range. Dan wesson would be nice but its a bit over the price range

Looking at Kimber, SIG 1911, Ruger, Springfield, Remington r1 enhanced, anything else im missing?

I've had my share of NP-29s and each and every one has been worth more than the $300 price tag. I've also been very happy with the SAM and Seraphim Armoury offerings, but my Colt is still my favorite.

dan wesson is may be out of league for you now but who knows one day. i offered one lasd to my wife and it is way above all expectations.

we had a few np29s they re good if you can find one and they offered more than the price tag and i do think the only problem is to have fit the accessories if needed.

i cant wait to hear about canuck/tizas 1911 as well as they seem good for the price.

Colt Combat Commander (o4942xe), 4.25" barrel, steel frame, $1400 give or take. You'd have to import it, I don't think there in stock in Canada atm..

I wanted to try an Enhanced R1 9mm after they came out, cool looking gun, never pulled the trigger though.

There's a Dlask 9mm 1911 that has been on the EE since May of last year, the price is around your budget. Otherwise, I have an R1 Enhanced in 45 that has been a great pistol - good fit, no issues, smooth bushing/takedown, and accurate.
