Hey, I know what would be really original... a thread about which is the best 9mm pistol!!! I am sure it's never been discussed before :p

Anyway, which 9mm do you think is the best one money can buy, and why?

In order of preference:

CZ 75/85 and Tanfoglio clones
FN Hi-Power
Sig 226 Navy Model
1911 Chambered in 9MM

So much depends on what you intend to use the gun for. IPSC/IDPA, Militay Pistol Shoots or (personal defense if it becomes legal).

Take Care

SIg 226 for my money ...never had a problem with mine .

In my opinion the Sig 226 again for accuracy and reliability, it is not the most expensive, but try before you buy, see if you can try out a few different pistols to see what feels right for you before you spend the money.

People, that know more than I do, say the Sig P210 is the best/most accurate 9mm pistol. I owned and sold a full sized Walther P88; the pistol cost a lot and it is happier where it currently lives. I do not like but I do shoot a Sig P226 very well. For my money a Browning BDM is as good as it gets for me. Regards, Richard :D

Beretta 92
Glock 17 or 19
HK USP or variant
Sig 226 or 228

It is purely a matter of opinion which of the above is better than any of the others, so I've presented them alphabetically.

Ergonomics:

Beretta and Sig are tied for best, then HK, last Glock

Reliability:

4 way tie, near'n I can tell.

parts availability:

Glock is best, the others are tied for distant dismal last.

Accuracy:

4 way tie, but the Glock has the ####tiest trigger going, so gets edged out.

field stripping:

Sig, Beretta, Glock, HK, in order of ease. Sig edges out beretta because of that f'n locking block.

Detail stripping:

Glock, then dismally far behind, a 3 way tie.

I value parts and detail strippability over ergonomics and trigger, si I like the glock. To coin a phrase, your mileage may vary.

On the radar for "best 9mm", it's important to mention the S&W M&P (heretofore referred to as '&&') and the Steyr MA1. Only time will tell, though.

what u recommended are Top 4 in us army contest.:D but I heard chicago PD banned Glock because of accidentally discharging incident. Beretta 92FS had ever some slide problem. HK USP has less durable because of their particular designing. I didn't hear any rumor about sig so far:D

Not sure why you rank them like this, but I can get most SIG parts without too much difficulty. HK parts are sometimes impossible to obtain. Beretta parts are hit and miss, but usually much easier to obtain than HK as well.

Glock 17

For the money the Glock 17 seems to be the best for me. Many shooters have different opinions on which criteria is more important to them, and based on that, they choose the make they prefer. I think the Glock does very well in everything.
