Best 9mm pistol?

what u recommended are Top 4 in us army contest.:D but I heard chicago PD banned Glock because of accidentally discharging incident. Beretta 92FS had ever some slide problem. HK USP has less durable because of their particular designing. I didn't hear any rumor about sig so far:D

HK USP was not available at the time.
Glock was not in the competition as it did not have a manual safety.

actually I mean HK P7, if I were not wrong,Glock in the competition at the beginning till only P7,92FS,p226,glock17 left?

my favourite 9mm pistol would be Beretta 92FS Inox;

it's reliable (never had a maulfanction), accurate, has a nice tigger, durable and it looks good :)

Not sure why you rank them like this, but I can get most SIG parts without too much difficulty. HK parts are sometimes impossible to obtain. Beretta parts are hit and miss, but usually much easier to obtain than HK as well.

Well, how about this:

Glock parts are so effortless to get (Hello, is this Police Ordnance?), that all others *seem* to be tied for a dismal last place.

Sig ;)
Seems the P220 gets left out any time Sig is mentioned and people only want the 226...the 220 comes in 9 too. :(

How about...hello TSE, I need some SIG parts?

Glock was not in the trials because it lacked an external safety. Same for the P7.

Anyway, which 9mm do you think is the best one money can buy, and why?

The best pistol that money can buy in my opinion is the Sig226 X-Five. Why, because I've either owned or shot all of the 9mm pistols mentioned above, and I would have to say that no matter it be accuracy, fit, finish, or esthetics, the X-Five beats them all. Unfortunately, so the the retail price  . Not to mention the adjustable trigger pull is always a plus!

Detail stripping:

Glock, then dismally far behind, a 3 way tie.

I value parts and detail strippability over ergonomics and trigger, si I like the glock. To coin a phrase, your mileage may vary.

Funny you mention this.

I shot an IPSC match last weekend and seen Dragoon break a trigger spring while shooting. He took a trigger spring out of an extra Glock 17 and put in a Glock 22 in about 15 - 20 minutes.

I remember spending half of a day dissassembling a 75B to rob a trigger spring out of it to put into my SP01 the day before a match.

If it happened to me I'd be down to my back up gun.

Actually the SIG P210 is much more expensive than the X5. The X5 is pretty good value for the money. although it is pricey it really is a target pistol.

In order of preference:

CZ 75/85 and Tanfoglio clones
FN Hi-Power
Sig 226 Navy Model
1911 Chambered in 9MM

So much depends on what you intend to use the gun for. IPSC/IDPA, Militay Pistol Shoots or (personal defense if it becomes legal).

Bob

After whats happened recently, what do you think the chances of that are? Me thinks NONE!

I really like my CZ85 and believe it or not my FEG FP9M fits my hand like it was born with me.

Uncle Walther has a big hand and thus Sig 226 and Glock won't be a perfect choice. His thumb may press on the slide release and cause mul function of the Sig. Big hand people need a Beretta 92F:D
