Best 9mm pistol?

Uncle Walther has a big hand and thus Sig 226 and Glock won't be a perfect choice. His thumb may press on the slide release and cause mul function of the Sig. Big hand people need a Beretta 92F:D

I am a lefty, so the thumb hitting the slide release is not a problem. My preference is the P7, not only because it is uber-cool and accurate, but because it is completely ambidextrous. The grip in the P7M13 is quite large too. I've never shot a Sig.

I agree. And, I actually prefer the M8 to the M13. The grip on the M13 is comfortable, but to me it seems too wide given the compact nature of the gun. It's really an aesthetic thing. The grip is just not congruent to the rest, and in the end the overall look is not as appealling as the M8. I am sure many would disagree.

Especially the Jubilee

I agree, I ordered a P7M8 Jubilee from Ronin August 1st, I'm estimating she won't be fully transferred until around Halloween though. Actuallty its a race because I ordered my P7M13 from Wolverine at around the same time. We'll see which one comes in first!

Now that is one great looking pistol. At $2300Cdn the gun is out of my price range but one can wish. Is the barrel length just over the 4" Prohib requirement?

Yes the P7M8 is the smallest restricted (but not prohibited) pistol out there. The barrel is listed as 105mm, but it must be a hair over that as the rule says "greater than 105mm" meaning 105.0001mm is legal.

P.S. I wish it was only $2300, The jubilee's that are still available are selling for $3000!

I bet they rounded up to avoid confusion

All of my reg certificates have listed my M8s and M13s as 106mm.
I bet the rounded up to avoid confusion around the 105mm minimum. The US HK Web site lists the length as 4.13" which is technically 104.902mm, but barrels vary in length due to the manufacturing process, temperature, etc.

Apparently Everest was exactly 29,000' when they first measured it, but it was reported to be 29,002' so people would not consider it an estimate. It is the same reason your insurance policies always starty at 12:01 am...

Just my 5 cents:
I'd asked the same question about accuracy of 9mm few years ago and got no certain answer. Then I began testing myself. I bought 3k of SPEERS 124gr ammo and during the following year I tested few pistols in the same manner: 25m distance, alone, one hand, standard CSSA bullseye target, 3 series of ten shots in slow fire with 10-15 minutes rest between series. After 7-10 days I repeated the test. Finally, for pistols I possessed I had data of 180-200 shots for each and for pistols I borrowed - 60 shots. On completion of really hard job the results are:

STI Targetmaster 94.7%
HK USP Expert 91.3%
Beretta 92 -89.8%
CZ-85C - 84.2%
Glock-17 - 82.6%
Springfield XD - 80.5%

All above- mentioned stuff only means that some pistols are better for me, some - no.
But also it means that the accuracy is in direct proportionality toprice you paid for.

The USP expert is an awesome firearm. I found it to be even more accurate than the Mark 23.

AT $3,000 a pop I'll bet it is one fine gun. Frankly, it would have to be for that kind of money.

I still can't understand where the higher price comes from for the P7M8 Jubilee edition. The only difference I can see is the addition of Nils grips, which can be had for about $100. Perhaps they hand select and hand fit the parts? Maybe the finish is nicer?

Marketing my boy marketing - it says Jubilee!

That said, even at $2,300 it would have to be quite the gun. For that kind of money I can buy a custom built 1911 with all the bells and whistles in my caliber of choice.

You're right there shouldn't be that big a gap. Ronin sells regular P7M8's for $2300 and Jubilee's for $3000 making the difference $700 (No one else in Canada had the Jubilee).

Included with the Jubilee is a fitted black wood case with black plush lining and red HK logo in lid, P7 anniversary medallion, 2 mags, cleaning tools, and owners manual. I imagine the mags, cleaning tools, and owners manual are included with any model; so that is $700 for the grips, slide engraving, fancy box, and the coin.

The extra money is really just because it is a collector's edition. This was actually the first gun I ever bought, so I wanted something that was special (and paid through the nose to get it).

Guns on Gunsamerica are going for $1,200 US so where is the $1,100 difference? Seems to me it is almost worthwhile to buy them Stateside.
