Best adhesive for a (nearly) invisible crack fix???

For any sceptics about the value of poly glues:
I built a tonneau cover for the pickup two years ago using this stuff. (Grizzly Glue) There was no stuctural hardware used except staples and tacks to hold it together while the glue dried and some clamps where it was possible. The entire frame was made from red cedar, and the cross members are arched about 3/4 inch but only 3/4 square where they are notched into the sides. It's covered with one layer of Fourdrinere fabric from a paper machine and waterproofed.
This thing has been blown off the truck twice when I forgot to tie down the back end. It's been on and off too many times to count, dropped, walked on by cats and dogs....but no kids:)....had a foot of super-saturated wet snow on it, but has NEVER needed any repair.
All this and red cedar is a very hard wood to glue successfully.:D

I would recommend buying the Brownells Acraglas Bedding Kit. They cost about 20.00 . The bedding compound has a greenish tinge to it, but the kit comes with a small tube of brown dye to tint to the appropriate color. I have personally used this kit to repair cracks and bed actions and can honestly say that it is an awsome product.

STOP EVERYTHING!

Before you glue it and ruin your oportunity to do so, have you contacted your closest Ruger repair facility?

the Red Label is a $2000+ shotgun and is backed by a pretty good warranty and service network. If you didn't abuse the gun, and it cracked, that's a defect in workmanship and they mayt well replace the forestock for you for free.

If you monkey with glue, etc. they will NEVER cover ANYTHING on that gun.

Before trying anything, try to get it replaced for free.

As I mentioned above, I'm the second owner. The original owner said that he 'would look into it' with Ruger, but I've had no response from him for some months now.

You being the second owner or not is irrelevant IMHO. If it broke from normal use, it's a defect in materials and they will probably cover it. Ruger, as a company, DOES care about customers - unlike some others out there.
