Looking for a good Choke tube, maybe a ported / extended one, Want best pattern at the longer ranges, with 3 inch #2 and BB steel. For a Win Super x2 ,
Read a bunch of stuff on different brands , now to compare with the real world.
Was thinking Mod For both loads, or Improved Mod, and staying with #2 , 3inch.
Thanks

Going through the same thing now. There is so much data out there and everyone claims their's is the best.

I just picked up Mossberg Accu-Steel Mod. & a Hunters Specialties Long Range ext tube for my second barrel (sxs).

I will let you know how they pattern.

We are shooting home rolled #3 to B shells. THey are jazzed up so it is tough finding a good patterning choke.

So far looks like this one, if available in Canada

save your money and put it into a remington 11-87. i had a browning BPS it wouldn't pattern worth s**t. i tried a patern master and a browning waterfowl extended. they didn't make more that 2-3% difference. so i sold it and bought ANOTHER rem 11-87. the full choke patterns like a slug and the modified puts 92% of the pellets in a 30 inch circle at 40 yards.

no other shotguns i've tested shoot as tight as the remingtons.

Buddy of mine just bought a BPS a couple of weeks ago, now mind you was patterning turkey loads. His friend has the identical gun and about 5 or so after market choke tubes. They tried all of them. The most expensive being marginally best. The next best in line was the plain jane factory. As mentioned above every manufacturer claims to have the best choke tube out there. But maybe in reality, the stock tubes that come with the gun are more than ample? Im not sure. I know I jumped on that band wagon when I first got my turkey licence and went out and bought the remington ventilator that same day. But I didnt do any patterning, I just bought and shot! Now I wish I would have patterned the factory tubes.

Every shotgun shoots different. Each will have its own "sweet" load. You will find that all screw in chokes will have good days and bad days depending on what gun they are screwed into. I have had good luck with ALL Browning (Invector and Invector Plus) and Remington tubes. The VERY best was a REM CHOKE FULL (for steel) that came with a 1100 steel shot barrel. Patterns in the low to mid 90% consistantly with Federal steel loads. The Federal loads were the 14.00 a box 3" magnum High Velocity . Pattern Master has been mentioned and an American friend of mine finds them very good with Hevi-Shot ammo.

Pick one of the Super Waterfowl series, put it in your Super X2, make sure the gun shoots where you look, then go to your local club & shoot a few thousand rounds at Sporting.
I assume you are shooting waterfowl & not turkeys on the ground.

Why do a lot of threads contain "a friend of mine"...... sure a lot of theory out there.

My reference to my American friend was legit. His name is Mike LEACH and he is a pro staff member with Real Tree Outdoors. I have personally watched his success with Pattern Master chokes......
