Best air rifle for young child

I'm not much of an airgunner anymore. But I would pick any HW over a crosman break barrel. Crosmans are over priced junk. It's the same action, same crappy trigger, just change a barrel and stock and call it a new gun.

At least with HW there is quality.

Crosman made their business, in the CO2 and multi-pump pneumatic guns. I doubt the Springers are in any way related...Imports from Spain, Turkey, or China, would be my bets. Not 'good' imports, like as not, given the current strategy of 'race to the bottom'.

But Crosman has ALWAYS done a lot of what is known as Parts Bin Engineering, to come up with new models, so it should not be any surprise that it carries on that tradition. Their parts lists actually use part numbers that start with the model number of the first Model to use that part, a dash, then the reference number. So you can look at a parts list for a very new gun model, and see part numbers that date back to their bulk CO2 days.

Did you know they were responsible for the first use of CO2 12 Gram Powerlets?

Before the model 150 Pistol, and IIRC, the 160 Rifle (which used two powerlets), their guns used bulk CO2 tanks, reputedly WW2 Surplus Life Raft Inflation tanks, to charge their CO2 guns. They made a lot of multi pump pneumatic guns too. IIRC, the FIRST Crosman was a multi-pump.
