Benelli SBE II if you need the 3.5 and M2 if you do not. I have an M2 that I use for trap, Canadian honkers and everything in between so I don't bother abusing myself with the 3.5. If you want a "more reliable" pump, get the supernova. Those things are super sweet.
As for a long rifle definitely a bolt action. I wouldn't buy anything remington though, their new stuff is complete junk in my experience. CZ makes great rifles, as do Weatherby and Tika, Savage is also building some quality stuff too, the accutrigger is great but not for everyone though! I have a Weatherby Vanguard in .243 I bought new for $360. Guarunteed to shoot 1.5" at 100 with premium ammo. I use handloads and can cloverleaf at 100 and easily maintain 1.5 at 200yds, pretty good for a $360 first rifle. You wouldn't want a .243 though as I don't shoot anything larger than coyotes. .308 or maybe a .30 cal weatherby mag. Weatherby makes some sweet sweet rifles for around $1000.
