Best and crappiest rings for Tikka

Thanks everyone for replies. I'll likely go with Leupold rings and bases, because those can be easily found in my area, but keep an eye open for other brands recommended in this thread.

Why not shop Canadian and get a Near Mrg. base for your Tikka? Just picked up my second one for my varmint in .308. I am going to say probably the best base you can get!! and Richard is great to deal with! I order a new base on Tuesday and I had it by Thursday, how is that for service?

As for rings - Near are top notch( but a bit pricey), or TRS, Leupold or Badger is what I would go for, you pay for what you get when it comes to rings!

Here is my first Near base on my T3 .270Win

I have a tikka T3 and a leupold 2.5 x 8 scope.

This combo is known to have a minor issue...
The scope is compact and does not allow mounting far enough back for some.

Would the talley's or the set up clang has in the photo above allow mounting the scope futher back???

I like the Burris Xtreme Tactical rings. They clamp to the rail with a nice big bolt and large clamping surface. And the scope is held into the ring with 6 (six, VI) bolts, 12 for two rings. Also, the burris tactical bases are great, I'm not sure if they make them for your rifle. The bases aren't too expensive, and the rings average about $74.00 for the pair, nor sure if that is expensive compared to others.

If you can't get far enough back, get the NEAR rail pictured above...

I personally prefer leupold rings , or burris , the rest mentioned here are all good , don't know about millets never used them. The worst rings are the cheap weaver rings ( 10-30$ deals) they fall apart in no time, cheap metal , lousy workmanship, pure crap !

Warne Maximas have worked very well on my Tikkas and Sakos. They are very secure rings that mount directly to the rifles' integral scope rails.

As mentioned above - the bases give the greatest mount options/locations and you have your choice of any picatinny type rings.

The Burris Signature rings have that nice plastic shim rig, they don't mark up your scope and the Burris bases are available in a reversible front configuration that will let you move the scope further back if you need to. Whole deal under $100, and the bases screw on, which to me is better than any pinch lock system could ever be.

If I were starting over, for one inch scopes I'd buy 30mm rings and use the polymer insert reduction rings from Brownells. Solid grip and no marks on scope.
