When you actually had to use it, Which rifle scope has given you the best or worst warranty/customer service in Canada?

Vortex has some of the best warranty in the business. Lifetime, no questions asked and they will send it back to you in a week or two (you can always give them a call to see how its going).

Leupold has never let me down and the Vortex sounds good, but have never had to use it myself.
Would be my second choice when/if I need a new scope and warranty is a good point in the selection process in my books.

^^^^^ This, had a strikefire go bad, sent it back to them (and i'm not the original owner/no receipt). filled out their online form, shipped to them and a NEW strikefire was back in my hands within 2 weeks........top notch service.

Bushnell is pretty decent.
Time frame a tad slow for most.
When that Gary chap sends me his spare
Leupold, then I will have one to compare to and
keep the sand outta me eyes.

I whacked a Leupold against a truck bumper so hard it broke the glass in both ends sent it in as kinda a long shot being as the tube was dented darn good aswell.
Got a brand new one back with a letter asking just how I managed that.

They said R&D was interested.

Where did you send your Conquest for warranty that it took this long? I've only ever known of one Conquest that was sent in for warranty and it took 8 weeks....just curious where yours was sent.

Returned a scope to Leupold and turnaround was about 2 weeks. Not only that but they included a longish letter about how best to shim the scope for the longer ranges I was shooting at the time AND INCLUDED the shims to do it with. The scope (fixed 12X) had endured WELL OVER 10,000 rounds fired under it, everything from 30-06, 308, 35 Whelen and shotgun slugs as well.

Leupold has always been a two week turn around for me. now that they have the canada only policy, all scopes are U.S made, yet they only warranty new scopes which are sold through Korth, I am not a big fan of monopolies so now buy vortex. Warranty service is as good.

I sent it to here and they sent it to the states for repair. Gentec International

Just not very happy with the turn around time, thought after all that waiting they would have sent me a new one but nope oh well just won't buy again, it was my third conquest.

That's too bad you had a bad experience.....it's not the norm but can't blame you for being upset.

Waiting on a Burris scope now, its been 3 weeks since they received it and no word on anything yet. Really hoping this won't be a long turn around thing!

Minox has excellent warranty policy and outstanding service. The problem is you need to use it f....n constantly...

Just to confirm. Does this mean that if you buy a Leupold scope from out of country Korth will check the serial number - determine it as such - and then not perform warranty work? From what I understand it is difficult to get scopes in and out of the US, therefore Leupold US service may not be an option. Ultimately, 'illegitimately' purchased scopes are not warrantied?

Basically, yes. Korth gets the exclusive right to distribute in the Canadian market and part of their deal is handling the warranty work themselves rather than shipping them back to Leupold in the U.S. But with the unlimited lifetime warranty applicable even to used scopes, this got to be too much for them. So now they only cover warranty work on scopes they imported.

If you have an unofficial import the Leupold warranty is still valid but Korth isn't obliged to deal with it. If you can get it back to the U.S. or the retailer will do that for you (some have reported big retailers, e.g. BassPro, importing Leupold products themselves from the U.S.) Leupold will honour the warranty but then there is the return paperwork and it can get to be a long time.

Personally I won't pay the premium for a new Leupold because I think it's the warranty that raises them above other makes and you can get the same warranty on used Leupolds.

I have a Leupold 6.5-20 that was purchased back around 1990 from Cabelas in the U.S. .....long before I knew a Leupold Repair Center even existed in Canada. So if this scope suddenly requires warranty work....it won't be honoured? There's something wrong with this.

About a 2wk turnaround with Bushnell for a Bocsh&Lomb I had bought in early 90's, they sent a new one back to me. 8wk turnaround with Leupold for repairs to a pair of bino's bought in late 80's.
