Best Ar style .22?

I'm looking at getting an AR style .22 in the spring. The models I'm aware of are: S&W 15-22,Colt .22lr M4, Ruger SR22, SigArms Sig522. Wondering which one is the most reliable and best value. Thanks

The first two are restricted, the third is non restricted, and the fourth is prohibited and isn't even close to an AR. What licensing do you have?
 
Armi Jaeger AP-74 is also a restricted AR loking gun. No longer made so new is not available. I have a used one and love it but am selling because I need a gopher gun Non-restricted for my boy. He is old enough to come out with me and I want to get him a gun he can call his own, him having 2 different guns to learn on is not right in my opinion. He love the AR look so I am getting him the mossberg.
 
Hey r c , of you choices I would go with the SR22. Both the Colt and S&W are restricted, meaning range use only and the Sig is prohibited meaning you'll never own one. The SR22 is a Ruger 10/22 in a black frame, it's very reliable, and being non-restricted you can take it with you to shoot in the bush.

Great quality, tons of accessories, non restricted so you can take it anywhere, quality made, I love mine it shoots flawlessly I never have any jams or misfires, shot targets out to 200 yrds with it (with SPARC so groups where not the best but kept the shots on the paper none the less) The butler creek mags have steel lips so they feed better than the plastic ones you get with the 597 VTR. I have used both and have friends with the VTR who I shoot with, the VTR has good accuracy but not near as reliable. Although it is less you seem to get what you pay for.
that's my opinion.
 
I will add as well the SR-22 is the best quality but you pay for that as well. The extra cost may not be appropriate for the use you have intended. My mossberg is for my 9 year old as it is cheap, works well, lighter and easier to handle for him. My 17 year old is getting the SR as he wants to hit the range and gophers.
 
Or hold off (if you can) to see if the ISSC MK22 is restricted/non-restricted and/or allowed into Canada. There's one I'm looking forward to (if Non-restricted)

Great advice boys thanks. I was leaning towards the Ruger because of the reliability of the 10/22. And the non restricted factor is huge, less hassle to obtain and carry the SR22. and Armourall the ISSC MK22 looks like an awesome little machine too, chances are restricted but something to look into thanks.
 
Drewz has the right idea, the SR-22 is the rifle of choice unless its for a younger shooter, then I would go with the Mossy. I don't class the Mossy in the same league as the Ruger but, for fit and ease of handling, it would better suit a younger/smaller shooter. With all the support the 10/22 has you'll never run out of stuff for your SR-22.
