best ar15 for under $1300

My 2 cents and I claim to know very little....

1. Get a US made version and true milspec. True milspec, not just milspec sights etc, and no worries that i would get the one dud chinese version...wasnt worth the risk to me.
2. Shoot it a ton and then slowly add things that you want. Better to spend on ammo and enjoy than to spend a fortune on having the brand that advertises the most.

Just what was recommended to me. I did a lot of looking on here and if you are patient there are some screaming deals that come along. D Defense etc....for even below that but.....

I ended up with a good quality off brand (black forge) and it was in the low $700's all in with tax and shipping.
That leaves me a ton for optics (thinking of the holosun 5 series that are coming out soon to replace the 4s) and that will leave me lots for magpul toys, .50 mags etc. etc. Should be all tricked out for not much over $1000 Canadian pesos. Thats a working mans gun that should hold its value and be fun for decades.... your mission may vary...works for me.

or wait for a dd special from wolverines
I wouldnt touch anything else but thats just me, I'm a snob. But someone will talk about norincos in about 37 seconds.
 
I would spent a little bit extra and get the DD MK18 at wolverine for 1499 (last years price) or look for a Colt 6920. Ill have one for sale shortly if you want a used one because i just purchased a SA15.7
 
I have picked up a couple of Daniel Defense rifles for $1299 each on sale in the past few months. Both Wolverine Supplies and Canada Ammo have had sales on recently.
 
get a colt or dd, wait for the sale or wait to save enough to buy it.

THEN buy some of these! More important than ammo IMO!

I like the S&W M&P15 Mid MOE. Mid-length gas system, lightweight-profile barrel with 5R rifling, and a unique lower. Usually only a smidge more than $1300.
 
There's a few in that price range that would be good. DPMS, Wyndham, others. If you could find a gently used DD that would be the better choice IMHO tho.
