Best ARCA Rail for MPA BA-Comp Chassis?

I have a MPA BA-Comp Chassis, but don't like two things about the built in ARCA rail. First it does not allow the attachments to slide off the front. Second, it has no scallops, so things can slip if not really tight.

What ARCA rail options are out there that will fit to the MPA BA-Comp Chassis without any additional machining?

What ARCA rail options that fit have the scallops?

The only way I am aware of to stop ARCA devices from slipping under extreme load, is Really Right Stuff's new ARCA standard with the locating pin holes in the rail that match to a big pin in the clamp.
 
Like Adam mentioned, the new RRS R-lok rails have locating holes in the rail (that is otherwise dimensionally identical to current RRS dovetails) that interface with a pin that is on the new SC-LR clamp (which is what is on the Anvil-30). The pin is spring-loaded so it still works on "legacy" rails. I don't know who makes R-Lok rails specifically for the MPA BA Comp but I'd check out Sawtooth Rifles/Dependabilt. I know MDT will be updating their rails for R-Lok but don't have a timeline on that. For your purposes, you'd have to buy both the rail and the appropriate clamps for this to work as you intend.

Another option that we don't see a ton of anymore is Area 419's Arcalock system that basically has a "serrated" rail and locating pins in the clamp that act as recoil lugs. The rails come in various lengths and you can get clamps for your bipod or whatever else you want to use.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if they make an Rlok rail for the MPA eventually. You should email and ask. They just released one for the ACC (which also already has the dovetail machined on).

If you have a machinist buddy (or there's a local machine shop) your best bet is probably to just mill off the stop at the end of the rail, get one of the Area 419 clamps and mill a few spots on your exiting dovetail to line up with the pattern of their locating pins. I don't think there is a bolt-on solution for what you are looking for right now.
 
I have a couple of the 419 Arcalock rails and they leave a lot to be desired. The serrations are uncomfortable to carry the rifle and the bipod certainly doesn't slide smoothly when using the 419 clamps with the pins installed. In order to slide a bipod back and forth, you almost have to completely loosen off the clamp to the point it falls off the rail

I still have the rails, but I took the pins out of my clamps so it functions as a standard Arca rail now. What clamps are you using that they slide on the rail? I've never had an issue with something sliding when using a clamp manufactured to the 1.5" standard.

I'm using 419 clamps, but you gave me something to consider that I never thought about, so thank you for that. The serrations will restrict the free movement on bags and obstacles, and that defeats the purpose of this exercise.
 
You could get one of the RRS R-Lok clamps (or look up and see if the technical drawings are posted) and then just get a few pin holes milled into your chassis. Or get one of the Sawtooth/Dependabilt generic R-Lok rails (that are M-Lok) and modify them to attach them to your MPA. Or just sell the MPA and get an MDT, XLR, etc for who Dependabilt make purpose built R-Lok rails.

The serrations aren't big enough to restrict movement on a bag or obstacle. Just on sliding the 419 clamps back and forth when the pins are installed.

To be fair, you want MDT to make an R-Lok rail to specifically fit a competitors stock with a proprietary mounting system...

We're always open to suggestions and that product request form is typically built more for chassis and different inlets, so I can see how that may have not been the best suggestion.
