A buddy of my son has been shooting with him and decided he too, would like a 9mm handgun. What do you guys & gals think is the best for the $$. This is just casual shooting & he lacks lots of $$. I have one of the 100 $ Norincos from a while back but not sure on reliability for a new shooter. (still NIB :( ) Thanks for any ideas & will pass them along.

honestly unless he's reloading or a 50 rounds a month type get him to buy a .22 lr of some sort. The price of most any 9mm firearm adds up to the price of a few cases of ammo. My ammo costs outpaced my firearm costs within a few months. It's an expensive sport to be involved in.

best bang for buck 9mm

well if it was my choice I would choose either an older CZ 75 or a newer one . all steel pistol . tell him to save his coin till he ready to go all out . and he should buy a single stage reloader to reload his own ammo.

The Smith and Wesson M&P is a great deal.

It's a great deal because it comes with three magazines, a Blade-Tech holster, and double mag-pouches.

I wish every gun came like that.

I would suggest a Beretta 92FS as I have one and its fabulous to shoot period. Proven to be one of the most dependable pistols in the world. :)

+1 for Norc 1911 in 9mm.

my NP-29 gets better and better the more i shoot it.

All steel working 1911 for $350? .. seriously how can you top that?

but it is rough, and a person might be disappointed if the said person had high expectations. :p

any gun in decent finish is going to cost $500+.

Big K-- guess he can use the Norinco if you let him. A 22 auto might also be helpfull. I know where there are a few laying around!!! The same place has a box full of reloading equ. Ie; press scale and a few others. Taking up space in shed. You really need to make a trip to Alta. :) :) .
