Best bang for buck hunting rifle?

Well for me it's been this $80 no.4 mk1 Longbranch sporter.

$80 rifle
$110 for the Addley mount
$250 Nikon prostaff 4x12x40
$60 Leupold rings
$500 all in

Took two whitetail with it this year, it's a straight shooting rifle.

Another Mauser 98 design that's a good value is the Zastava LKM70. About 40% less than the price of a new CZ550.

The actions are a bit rough new but will smooth out with use. I have a .308 stainless synthetic (among others) and it's a keeper.

I'll agree on your choice of CZ, however I think the overall best bag for your buck would be the older used firearms, in very good to excellent condition.........Sako, Brno, Weatherby, et al.

If that's what I had to spend I'd hit the EE and not even look at a zastava add.

Depending on what one you are after, blued/synthetic 300Win is $599. I got a 7x64 Stainless synthetic from Gagnons for $499 last summer on sale. The blued/wood versions run $700 most places.
 
The stainless synthetic that everyone is saying is such great value is 899$ at Gagnons. The wood blued versions are 799.
I have been unable to find these for 500$ on google but I guess if your quoting sale prices that are 40% off, I cannot argue value. Even at those prices, I have no use for a Zastava.
 
T3 is a very smooth action, and precisely built rifle. It will preform well, if you want more bang for the buck buy an older model tikka. No need for a trigger job
 
I thought about my M77's as being values. Except some think the triggers on these need attention so tack on a couple or 3 notes to the price of the rifle to get that sorted. However there's a real simple and inexpensive way to improve the LC6 trigger if a guy knows what he's doing. ;)

Just got my first BSA CF2 from them in 6.5x55, and it's also a really nice gun. Very simple design but quite high quality, will definitely grab more of these if they get any.

If it's a good shooter, I'll probably dump my Howa 6.5x55...the BSA is just as well made, maybe a bit better in areas.
