Best bang for my buck? $350

Specialty Shooting Sports in BC has the best price on airguns IMO an RWS 34 in .22 about $250 or less..........Harold

I had a diana 350 magnum in 22. Shot 3" groups at 20 yards. I returned it and bought a diana 34 in .177. I had one ten years ago. I killed groundhogs ,skunks and raccoons at 20-30 yards with any rws 8gr. Pellet. All headshots, all 1 shot kills. I pulled off some great long shots on blackbirds including a confirmed 65 yard shot. I highly recommened the 34 in .177.. The .177 is over 900 fps which means there is very little drop from 20-50 yds. Unlike the 700fps slow .22. Also the .177 pellets are half the price and there are a lot more .177 pellets to choose from in canada. Think about it- why are target rifles and most airgun compititions shot with .177 rifles? Get the .177 ,you will hit more and a well placed.177 will kill game just as easy.

Don't write off 22's for accuracy. Mine shoots 10 shots under a dime at 20 yards and what looks like a single pellet hole at 10 yards. And that's at over 900 fps. I think they use 177's for competition because they typically shoot at 10 yards and killing power is of no consequence.

Weihrauch HW97K is one of the best springers money can buy. A scope, a pellet trap or phone book. And I'm happy the whole day. D&L Airgun usually has them.

Must have got a bad one, or bad ammo. Go .22; more killing power and many of them are very fast now. For the really high powered ones, the just below subsonic .22s will beat a super-sonic .177 for accuracy all the time.

Pigeons and gophers with HW80/.22 and a crow with RWS 34/.22 shot lots of grouse with them as well...........Harold

I would say the best bang for the buck is the new Benjamin Sheriden Trail NL XP, probably in .22. I have one in .25, and it's hell on wheels! It is like a break-barrel spring gun, but uses a compressed nitrogen cylinder instead of a metal spring - waaaaay quieter! Comes with a 3-9 scope for $324.99 from D&L airguns in BC, or buy the one that is for sale in the EE right now for $275, you can't go wrong!
