Best Bang for the buck Rings?

the only thing that comes cheap is aggravation

might be able to offer more then that, but have no idea what your putting them on.......

Your purpose would help... But I've had Burris Zee rings on my hunting rifle for a few years now and have zero complaints. I've also used Weaver Grand Slam rings without issue, but they haven't seen anywhere near the miles on foot and in truck that my main hunting rig with the Burris rings have. Both are steel. Both use torx screws. Neither have anything big sticking out where the ring attaches to the mount (some rings have big screw heads or knurled parts). The Zee rings have 1 screw on each side, the Weavers have two, haven't had a scope slip in either though.

I used the old strap style of weaver rings and the aluminum bases on my 300 mag for over 30 yrs on many, many game, until I was told they were no good and I am dumb to use them. Like maybe $15 for them and did the job no matter where I carried that rifle.

I agree. Put a set of those on my 8mm Rem Mag because at the time it was the only rings I had. 30 years of hard recoil later, they're still working fine. Hard to beat for the cost, though finicky to get set up right. Now days I mostly use Burris like Suther. But those Weavers are a great buy. - dan

You can buy new rings for 10.oo+tax, or you can spend 30-35.oo and get good rings,Steel.
The old weavers seem to work fine, you can get lots of used ones at gunshows if they get going again

I found that those old weavers came in such low sizes, they just seemed to work better with quicker cheek alignment.
I suppose they were designed before the big optics days.

If you want to spend money and support canadian, NEAR or ATRS make fantastic mount solutions. Buying used high quality rings is also a good idea. I like talley LW for under $50 and solid setup.

For years Redfield 2 screw new or NOS were common on ebay. They have beautiful sculptured lines that don't snag in anything and are stronger than hell. The engraved ones are works of art. People are wise to their quality now and even the economy lines are spendy. Bottom screw type are a little awkward but they have hips like JLO.

Support Canadian, but buy used where the manufacturer gets nothing. lol

Weaver Quad Lock rings can be had for ~$20. They have a square cross pin (I dunno if thats the right term, but the part of the ring that interfaces with the slots in the bases, its usually part of the bolt that holds the rings to the bases on cheap rings) which is the one thing I'd want in a cheap ring - some of them use a round cross pin and those can mess up your mounts over time - at least they did on one of my rifles, despite the rings being torqued to spec and everything.
