Hey all, just purchased my first SKS tonight for some cheap fun at the range and where ever else, and i was wondering what ammo you found works best? CT has crates of Romanian and Russian surplus. The soviet stuff is 127 gr FMJ, 1400 rounds for 279.99, and the Romanian is 127 gr FMJ 1320 rounds for 259.99. Is the new production Norinco stuff worth ordering, or should i just buy locally? I was just curious what ammo any of you have found to work the best! Cheers!

EDIT: im assuming all the surplus stuff at CT is corrosive. Would i be better to order some new non-corrosive stuff?

Get on the Wanstalls site while their deals are still on... ends at midnight pacific tonight you can get 1200 rounds of Czech ammo on stripper clips for $225 or 1440 rounds of Chinese for $225

I personally like the czech stuff myself or Romanian

edit comes with free shipping as well

To be honest I think its all good... I've shot both corrosive and non corrosive in the past. Now I shoot only corrosive since its so cheap and I always clean my firearms after each shoot anyway. Right now I have 1200 rounds of Czech, 1320 rounds of Romanian and about 500 rounds of miscellaneous stuff....

it all seems to shoot the same, never had a misfire... though the Czech stuff is nice since it comes on strippers already

FYI The Chinese comes in two sealed tins in the crate and the Czech comes in 4 plastic bags and then each 10 round clip is sealed in a bag too... kinda like that

just bought 3caise one free from canadaammo, will try next week to see if it is really no corrosive or not.
i shot non corrosive ammo LCW from canadaammo before, couple of month no clean at all, still no rust.
