I'm going to build a .22 RF target rifle and I'm wondering if there is any point in a barrel length over 26" for standard velocity target ammo? I'll go min. 26" for the sight radius and I plan on shooting this rifle from 20 to 100 yards. Thanks
although there is no point to having a longer barrel regarding speed it is true that most all rfbr shooters are using longer tubes, even when shooting with a scope. Anschutz builds a factory shorter barrel for br but most custom guys are using long tubes 26-28 inches, they must work better, and I have no idea why.
