Also a good option, although I am wary of cutting about beautiful new barrel lol
It’s not that complicated a job.
Cut,recrown,thread.
Shouldn’t cost much.

Ya, that’s useful to knowI saw a picture of a 20" gunner cut down before the 18.6" were available. There wasn't enough material for a shoulder for the muzzle device so they had to use a nut to tighten it. Just a heads up if someone goes that route.
They consider the barrel to stop where the rifling stops when measuring barrel length, muzzle device does count for OAL but that doesn't affect anything in your case.
Why do buying a barrel got to be so dam complicated. Lol
Stupid barrel length laws.
The IBI MS with the .750 GB journal sounds good.
It’s only a lb or little less than the Faxon.
Only thing is it’s not honed and I’m not sure if that even matters.
But reliable mentions it twice in the same add, almost like a big flashing warning sign
Glad I read your post, it never occurred to me ,regarding 936 and HG fit ment.Reliable copied/pasted the description from the IBI website when IBI offered that barrel as a special run. Also Reliable is charging more $$ than what I paid directly from IBI.
You can email Ryan at IBI and ask if he will make his top tier barrel to the same profile as the economical "special run" barrel. Tell him you basically want the Myers/Stacey barrel but you don't want the .936" gas block due to handguard incompatibility.
He is usually quick to reply and is easy to deal with. Turnaround time is also fast. He made me a .243 Win barrel for a Stag 10 and I had it in my hands in 5 weeks and that included them having down time over Christmas and New Year's.
As far as honed vs hand lapped only... I also am not sure how much that matters. I don't think Ryan would put a barrel out with his reputation attached if it was junk.

I’ll connect with Ryan and see what’s possible.
Thanks
