Best Battle Rifle?

Hey everyone,

I was just curious what the consenes was on the best battle rifle available on the market these days.

I was thinking the M14 / M1A and its varients would be the best IMHO.

But I wonder, if you could only have one rifle for the rest of your life, what would it be?

However for availabilty to those that don't have 12.3 and 12.5 , and affordabilty then the Norinco is it.

That's easy, it's definitely a Phased Plasma Rifle in the 40-Watt range.

Seriously, if there were a hands down "best rifle" why would every country carry and use different rifle systems? It all comes down to nit-picking and the end user.

the stupidity of media people.

Soldiers had to change "search and destroy" into " sweep and clear"
We are branded "assault rifles" owners because of the Sturmgevehr ....

Assault rilfes are supposed to have an intermediate power cartridge.
So M14 is not one.

As for the poll.... my vote for the sturdiest and most reliable goes to the Kalashnikov concept.
I've used them extensively and to those who don't find them accurate.... try a PSL with 7N1 ammo. then we'll talk.

eltorro, I would have to agree the PSL is certainly accurate enough, but with it's length and butt size/configuration, I'd still rather take a FAL for a "battle rifle".
