Best beam scale?

I have both an RCBS 10-10, and the bigger 304 [out of production now]
They are accurate and dependable.
I have electronic scales as well, but still check them against the beam units regularly. Eagleye.

Me too. I keep my 10-10 as a dependable backup and for verification of my Charge Master. The Charge Master really makes life simpler though.

If you are serious about getting the best possible beam scale, look into a Prometheus 2. I have one for each caliber I load, would never go back to a digital scale LOL

I’m fairly new to reloading, have reloaded for some hunting rifles and a varmint rifle, but I’m now getting interested in long range and precision shooting.

I’ve currently got an RCBS 5-0-5 scale. Is this scale accurate enough or should I upgrade to something else?

If you use them correctly, they are super accurate. You wont gain improvements there without megabucks. What electronic scales give you is speed.

I like my Dillon Eliminator and use it as my main scale --

I like my RCBS M500 but find the Dillon poises just a little easier to read --

I highly recommend either one.

I have a Lee scale that I used when I started out but don't use very often now. It is accurate and easy to use after you get used to reading the vernier scale, but mine seems to not hold zero for very long --

I like my RCBS 505. Easier to read than my Lee Safety scale. I got a digital scale that the same as a Hornady without paying for the name. I just use it to have 2 numbers to calibrate my powder measure.

I'd suggest you keep using your 505. I have a 502 that I bought used when I first started loading for shotgun, then I bought a used 505 as part of a package deal.
I find the 505 easier to use, slightly more sensitive than the 502. Both measure the same test weight to 1/10 grain, I have no concerns about their accuracy.

Keep the pivot points and the beams clean and dust free and the RCBS 5-0-5 is as good as anyone needs in a balnce beam scale.

The RCBS 5-0-5 is actually made by Ohaus and was sold by Lyman and others as well.
