Best bet on .45

Where’s everyone buying they’re .45acp these days? On the verge of purchasing my first 1911 and wondering what’s the current best bet for both price and decent quality.

I'd grab a used Ruger SR1911 in EE for about 600 to 650, that would be your best bet if you don't mind something used?
 
He's asking about ammo. 45acp is only economical if you reload. Buy a case of whatever you can find on sale that has brass cases. Save your brass and start to reload. It's not like 9mm. If you shoot a lot of 45 it's really the only way to go. If you don't shoot a lot, then just buy whatever is on sale with free shipping ( save your brass anyway cause you will reload eventually). You will save some money by the case
 
I was able to score 500 rounds for $200 in a private sale. As above I plan to reload these after shooting them
 
Green Diamond in Halifax has 45 ACP on sale for 19.99/50 ( Win Clean ) And got 100rds boxes for like 49.99/100. Winchester White Box. I pick up a box ever so often.

I'm just been scrounging around gathering 45 ACP brass. Slowly gathering stuff to reload.
 
Win clean is small primer if I recall correctly. You really don't want to get them mixed up with large primer cases. I used to buy the 100 rd. Winchester boxes when I was accumulating brass They weren't bad at all, and I've never had a problem with the brass
 
Is the Winchester white box good stuff for plinking? That’s what I picked up for $39/100 got a whole case for $200

Nope I don't mind it either.
 
45acp is nice to reload and that's the best way to be able to afford to shoot that caliber . 9mm well I can't stand reloading it . I don't have the patience to load those little cases.
