Best bi-pod for a precision rifle

That isn't what I would consider the best bipod for a precision rifle.

Those that participate in precision rifle sports tend to use Sinclair bipods, Weil Bipods, or the Cadillac of bipods, the Rempel Ski-Pod...

So exactly what bi-pod is that in your picture?? And were can i get it!!!!!!!!! Thats exactly what i want. Also, do you just use a sand bag on the back? or do you ever use a mono pod?? Would that take away to much of your fine adjustment and feel if you used a mono pod?
 
Sorry should have been more clear, or perhaps put that into two different posts. The best precision rifle bi-pod and were to get the GG&G bi-pod were actually two different questions for two different guns. Sorry
 
It is indeed a Bipod made by Calgary Fullbore shooter, machinist, gunsmith and great guy, Henry Rempel. It is extremely popular in F-Class (open class) They can be got through Range Sports Unlimited in Kamloops.

The design was copied by an American, (John Weil, Team Savage) and is made from Carbon Fiber at a fraction of the weight. They are nice, but I have seen several that have broken. They seem to be very fragile. It is like making a mechanical bipod out of a nice fly rod.
 
Although I don't own one yet, I can say this : Henry builds these by hand, in his garage, they are not a mass produced item. You simply will not find a better bipod anywhere.
 
Remple

Go with the Remple , i have seen three of the carbon fiber bipods fall apart this match season they tend to be As Ian says ** Fragile ** I use the Remple on my FTR rifle and its the best bipod on the market IMO .

dirteemax, is this bipod for hunting or target shooting? If you are hunting, go with the folding leg models. The Sinclair and Remple models weigh too much and don't fold well. If you're target shooting use the Remple or Sinclair because you want the rifle to slide on the skiis during recoil. If you don't want the bipod to slide during recoil because you lean into the rifle, then pick a Harris. It's all about picking a method, and matching the equipment.

Yes, the rempel clamps into a plate on the bottom of the stock. The is designed to be slid into an anschutz rail, however, I have bolted these adapter plates to the bottom of a couple of my stocks and used JB Weld between the plate and stock to add lateral supprt and strength.

Terry is absolutely correct, but I took it from the nature of the post and the forum, that it was all about precision target shooting.

Anyway, these bipods and adapters weight roughly 3.5 pounds. That is alot of weight. For those contemplating FTR class, this could put you over the top.
