I've had the same pair of Bushnells for about 8 years. They've been bouncing around my boat most their life and still clear as day. I got them from London Drugs for $150ish.
google chuck hawks blurb on binoculars and even he contraticts himself buy stating that only expensive glasses will do then states the best binos for hunting because of wild field of view and clarity are 7x35 glasses which no matter what company makes them tend to be the cheapest of all the binos look it up nikon 7x35 will cost you no more then $169 cdn. And also only bushnell and tasco that i could find even make this size any more. But really are the best choice for clarity easy for any hands, steady or not to hold, with great low light use.
What are the binoculars for? Do you want good low light performance? Is weight an issue? etc etc
If you want small binoculars then there are performance trade-offs etc etc....
Also, for the money a poro prism design cannot be matched by a roof prism design. It would take a good $400-500 roof prism design to equal a good $200 roof prism design( in my experience).
Be careful there are some very large differences in cheaper binos.
If you want really good advice then I would strongly suggest you talk to Tristan at Focus Scientific in Ottawa. This guy knows his optics inside out and has been doing only optics for at least 15-20 years. He is also not brand loyal( even if he sells it or not).

This is the best observation jet, it takes 3x or more amount of money for roof prism binos to equal porro prism quality. It helps to have at least 5mm exit pupil and them to be water proof. Any power over 8x is hard to hold steady offhand and weight over 1,5lb will get noticed by the end of a hard hunting day.
