When I bought my I was looking to get a pair of Vortex Diamondbacks. Cabelas was sold of them and was suggested by the salesman to look at the Nikon Monarchs 5, very comparable to the Vortex. Great set of bino's for under $300 when I bought them. Better than my wife's Bushnell Excursion HD's
Here is a review for ya.

I would look at the Vortex Diamondback and the Nikon Monarch 5. The Monarch would probably have the better image, but it doesn't come with the lifetime no fault warranty the Vortex has. so you'll have to play what's more important to you to decide. bino's in this price range are sorta of disposable...so I would consider optical quality over warranty myself.
What are you guys using for binoculars UNDER $350 before tax?
I'm looking at the diamondbacks but would like to here opinions on these and others
