Best brand/capacity mag to use in Norc 1911's... original recoil spring assembly?

I am looking to buy 1 or 2 magazines for my Norinco 1911 Police Model I ordered from CanAm, but am getting dizzy looking at, and reading about all the different brands, capacities, etc, etc....:confused:

I see that there are 1911 Chip McCormick 8 round magazines available that appear to be nearly the same length. Are these mags just as reliable as the 7 rounders? What brands and what capacities have you guys found consistently work well in your Norcs? I would really like to stick to mags with a basepad as I find they are easier to use, and they look sharp too! :D

PS - If any of you guys that have switched over to the full length guide rods have a unused or nearly new standard Recoil Spring Plug and Recoil Spring Guide kicking around that you took off your Norc let me know! I would like to have the original system (as this one appears to come with the FLGR system) so that I can see which one I like better!

Thanks!

Wilson and McCormick mags are good quality. Marstar has the GI style recoil spring guides for $8. As far as springs go, get Wolffe they sell springs for just about anything, the quality is good and they ship very quickly. They also have tune-up kits that include all the springs for the pistol, which is handy when you hit the 4500 round mark.
