Best Budget Bolt Blaster?

I would have included the Vanguard, but it's hardly a budget rifle at 50% more than any of the rifles I included. Weatherby isn't selling the Vanguard 1 anymore and at $599 for the series 2 from Cabelas, it's competing with much better rifles from Savage, Remington's 700 series, etc, etc. The Marlin X7 is a competitor, but pretty much unavailable as far as I can see. Are they even making them anymore?

The x7 series are really hard to find right now. The stainless versions are discontinued AFIK.

Marlin X7 series has my vote.

It could benefit from a floor plate or drop mag but that's my only complaint. I picked up my Camo .270 for $264 when wholesale was clearing em out last year.
Never much cared for the Axis Stock

I got few Axis`s 223,243,7mm08,
they all shoot the same.
Wont loose my time trying to justify,
Picture worth every word:
My favourite is the 243,
the 223 is more accurate,
the 7mm08 as the 243

"...the Weatherby Vanguard..." Very long way from being a budget anything.
"...the best?..." There is no such thing as that for any firearm related stuff. What you call 'budget' isn't the same as another guy's idea. And you need to consider bubba'd milsurps vs commercial hunting rifles. No commercial hunting rifle will come close to a decent milsurp for 'budget' shooting. Gotta know what you're buying though.
