Used ones are a great deal. The FFII 3-9x40 with ballistic reticle can be had for about $200. Good deal for a good scope.Burris Fullfield line is great for the money. Use extended Talley rings or a rail and you are set. Burris has a good warranty as well.
I think a .22LR bolt action is a better FIRST rifle. Master it and long range centerfire will be easier.Fair… I’m new to all of this. First rifle. Will be doing a lot range shooting to cut my teeth. Know some guys that hunt coyotes. Will likely take a stab at that. Can’t hunt anything else in this zone with a rifle.
Good reputation? I bought one and tried it out on my .308. Internals fell apart within 5 shots. No questions asked warranty came with it, so I sent it back and got a replacement which I promptly sold. Also, you'll note that you have to do little research before you'll find out they're made in China. In the spirit of fairness, I may have gotten an uncommon clunker but once bitten, twice shy.I’ve picked up a couple of new Riton scopes that were on sale and thus in your price range from site sponsors. Haven’t had a chance to try them out yet as my range has been unusable due to weather and snow. However, I find the glass to be exceptionally clear as mounted on rifles. They have a very good reputation to boot.
