im going to buy the RCBS lubasizer but it dosen't appear to come with a heater, and one is not in my budget right now, so im wondering which is the best lube that will flow without a heater? i'll be shooting 265g cast from a 444 gaschecked at around 2200fps.

I have been advised by someone i trust that a heater is not really necessary with this luber/sizer.

i use BAC white label lube. It claims to be good up to 2700ft/sec It flows well in my basement threw my 4500 and its not exactly warm down there.

All but the very hardest lubes are okay with the RCBS without a heater, and like someone said, just use a hair dryer. I like to oil lightly my used dies and make sure the shaft/plunger moves freely before I install the die in the sizer.

A base heater is only needed if using a hard lube. Most lubes do not require a base heater and ones that do usually will indicate that.

For the 444 velocities you may even be able to make due with the 50/50 formula.

Also harder lubes do not necessarily indicate that they can function better at higher pressure/velocities.

For example magma lube is an extremely hard lube that does require a base heater but it does not perform well at all at high velocities. (Hope I didn’t stir up a hornets nest here with the magma lube users).

Don’t be in a rush to buy a base heater, as previously mentioned a blow dryer on the lube reservoir can do the trick or even a light bulb that touches the sizer.
