Best bullets for 6.5 swedish long range

Through my research, I found: Sierra Match King, Lapua Scenar, Hornady Eldm. What I want to know is, who has tried them and gotten good results? Thanks
I've shot them ALL ! nearly all Brands and Many different weights in Many 6.5 s including my 6.5 Swede and gotton Good Results from many ! Whats your intended long range shooting usage - Targets or Game ?

unless the twist is suitable for heavy long bullets which likely is not also what is long range 400 yds or even 500 yds is not long range 900-1200 is starting to look like long range also that rifle is not capable of long range shooting
Not bashing just pointing out a few ???'s
if you want to shoot out to 350-450 yds then use a 140 gr bullet of some make and get at it

The M96 will stabilize up to at least the Sierra 142gr match bullet. I normally use the Hornady 140 ELD-Match as it's priced better than the Sierra's. I have also used Nosler Custom Comp 140 H.P Match. I load all of these to run about 2625 fps. or thereabouts. They will track to the sights at that velocity. Our military style shoot requires us to engage 12" square steel plates from 100 to 600 yards. The '96 swede performs well, if the shooter does his part...

I only have collectible firearms from 1945 and earlier... I just wanted to build a gun for long-range shooting and an accurate one... of all the numerous firearms I own, this one seemed like a good candidate. Unfortunately, I don't have any modern firearms; they're not part of my collection.

If price isn't an issue... which bullet do you like most use .. sierra or hornady ?

In my case, the more precise it is, the happier I'll be... of course, I know that when it comes to the technical aspects of bullets, it's not just the bullets themselves that matter... also the type of powder... and of course, the shooter :p

way back in the day, imperial sold a factory sweed round wit a 160 grain round nose bullet.at that time you could buy a M96 in new or mint condition from SIR in winnipeg for 49.00$

i have done a lot of shooting with many many sweed rifles. those imperial 160s would outshoot almost everything at 1-200 Meters. for reloading i had a fave and it was the sierra 142 HPBT matchking

imr 4350 was my go to powder or 3031. later on i bought a rem 700 in 65x55 and you could push those 142s a lot harder safly. it was as cgood as the new fangled 6.5 creedmoore
now im sure with better powders and more experimentin the sweed in the rem 700 would be evey bit the equal in lvelocity and accuacy of the creedmoore. so yes the sweed can be used for long range

Are your rear sights modified for spitzer bullets? They will have a T (for Torped) stamped on them if so.

If not modded then use Hornady 160gr RN which would have been closest to the military 158gr RN of the day. FWIW they were 2300fps
My reloads are 42gr of H4831 using Lapua brass. COAL 3.000". Runs 2330fps in my rifle.

If sights modified then I would suggest trying to recreate the m41 round which was close enough to a 140gr boat tail at 2600fps in an M96. Hornday, Sierra and Speer make bullets which would work well. I prefer Hornady and Sierra

I always had consistent results with Sierra, I have also consistently not been thrilled with Hornaday. I have shot some Speer as well, and was happy.

Sierra discontinued my favorite varmint bullet, the 85 gr JHP, but I have enough to last me the rest of my shooting life! 130-140 HPBT Match King.
