Right from day 1 I bought mine with the intension of hunting yotes. Because of that I went with 223. ...otherwise, If you want "fun", the one that makes it got pew pew pew is the bestest!
I love my X39. I'm not a keep count of rounds guys but I'm going to say it's well over 3000 rounds of Czech surplus.
It's not as good as an AR15 and given the choice between the two I'd pick an AR every time. Of course the draw with the XCR is the NR status and the cheap X39 ammo.
My only gripes are:
- Every now and again you have to tighten up the screw that holds the barrel in. Not a big deal if you keep an allen wrench in your range bag.
- I have a couple mags that work more reliably with 9 rounds instead of 10. Of course that might just be my gun...
- I had to replace the ejector spring on mine this year. The "spring" is actually a little rubber cylinder that had lost it's squish resistance (technical term). I attributed that to my hot water cleaning regime and oil bath after each range trip. Not a spec of rust anywhere.
Would I buy another one - for sure. The rifle is surprisingly accurate with Czech surplus and it's very cheap to shoot.
