Guys (& girls) I am trying to find the Best calibre for small vermin? in the Uk I used .22 subsonics with an anschutz bolt action short muzzle carbine with a moderator nest night ( yes we were allowed to shoot with a silencer and at night, shot nearly 200 one night) need something for mostly for gophers I have seen the 17 centrefire but cannot find any links to those for sale . what is the general opinion of these over something like the 10-.22 Ruger? do both of thes ecome i left handed as well as riight hand actions and stocks? many thanks for your help in advance

The .17hmr is a rimfire. Fast ,deadly and a bit louder than a .22.
The .17 centerfire is a bird of a different feather.
.17HMR is a fantastic varmint round for distances up to 200 yards.

Hard to beat a 10/22 in .22LR... Ammo is dirt cheap and effective for this application, and the 10/22 is a great little rifle that's fun to shoot and endlessly customizable. There's a reason for their popularity.

.22LR. The rifles are everywhere, as is the ammunition. I had a Savage bolt action repeater and it worked flawlessly.

I am a little crusty about selling it, but I needed the $$ for another project.
