Best case lube?

I use the lee case lube for general sizing. I put a smear along the edge of a bucket, put 200-300 223 brass in and swirl. Works great. But for heavy duty sizing i use imperial sizing wax.

The case lubes I have used and liked are;

RCBS on a pad
Imperial Sizing Wax
New Amsoil motor Oil

These ones didnt work so great right away for me and I didnt try them that much

I dented a few case necks with Lee, likely due to too much
Lyman spray seemed to stick cases in my RCBS .308 FL die dried or fresh.

Use imperial sizing die wax. Nothing else compares. It will not contaminate your powder/primers like all the others mentioned. (except lee but avoid that stuff) Used motor oil will have tiny metal filings in it and it's lubrication properties will be severely compromised. That is why you changed it in the first place.

Imperial wax or l use liquid lanolin with rubbing alcohol mixed in a spray bottle. Both have worked well for me just remember with the wax a little goes a LONG way.

ya know, I'm using up a tube of the Lee stuff I got in a deal, but as soon as that's gone I'ma gonna get some Lyman lube to use on the pad I got in another deal... the Lee stuff seems just too fussy, and I don't want to mix lubes on the aforementioned pad. Afraid the pad will turn into a lump.

And re: lube removal; being cheap, I use a bucket of warm water mixed in with 1-2 ounces of Castrol Super Clean (purple jug, Canadian tire). Swirl it around, let it sit, stir with your hand, swirl, rinse A LOT, and call it done. Then the trick is drying the cases... oven set on low, like 100 degrees. I'd go lower but the oven won't.

Thoughts about that last? I don't think I'm making the cases brittle, but then maybe..

(hoping not to hi-jack the thread... :)

Imperial is simple to put on and easier to take off.
All you need is the finest film you can possibly apply.
As opposed to the petroleum products the Imperial beeswax base has no toxicity issues.

Why anyone would use anything like STP or the old RCBS case pad in this day and age is beyond me?

Timely question.

I was reloading some .308 the other day and using the RCBS stuff with the pad. Unfortunately I couldn't find the actual lube after a number of moves. So I only had what was still on the pad, which was a fair amount.

After a number of reloads and still having some of the lube on the pad, I had a jam. @$@#$ brass .308 case stuck in the resizing die. What a pain in the rear. Finally cleared that up and still had some cases left to resize. I prepped about 150 cases of .308.

Well WD40 was on hand. I sprayed some on the pad and rolled the brass on it. Not optimum but it worked just fine. No more stuck cases and it didn't leave that whitish film on the brass. An old rag and the brass cases were clean. STP or Shell Roteilla diesel full synthetic motor oil would probably work just fine. Although a bit messy.

G96 is another option, but I use this on my guns and don't really want to waste it.

Lee Lube is trash, last night I found out the hard way....

Lee just got back to me and they are replacing my die free of charge, excellent service...terrible lube.

I mix lee sizing lube with 90% rubbing alchohol and put in into a spray bottle. The ratio is 4 parts alchohol to 1 part Lee. Put your cases in a zip lock - spray some lube in the bag and mix it around - and you have lubed a couple hundred cases in minutes. I have done this without a problem for over a year now.
