Best case lube?

Snow Seal is the same as Imperial sizing wax and much cheaper.

There must be another 'Snow Seal' because the Snow Seal my wife uses on her boots isn't even close to Imperial Sizing Die Wax.

When I started out reloading I used a product made or marketed by Lyman that wasn't too bad. I tried the stuff by RCBS and it's probably one of the few products RCBS puts out that I don't like. It worked alright but I found it to be very sticky and harder to remove.

Then I lucked out, after trying a few others, and tried Imperial. Still using it and haven't found anything that works better. A very little goes a long ways, works well on some of the harder aspects of case forming and it's easy to remove.

When I was running low on Imperial and having trouble locating more and for a bit of a safety cushion, I picked up some Unique Case Lube by Hornady. It works well and I'd say it's the closest I've found to Imperial. A close second.

If you have good dies (i.e. Redding) you don't need lube for neck sizing. I never use lube for neck sizing and I've never had any issues.

i have used quiet a few diferent ones lyman-rcbs-hornady and dillon,but now i'm using
10w30 it works fine, if you want something a little better buy the syntetic one.

I use graphite on the inside of the neck when I neck size using Redding dies.

When I find really hard resizing jobs I use just the tiniest amount of straight Lanolin.

Mink oil (as opposed to Snow Seal) can be used as a case lube (although I have not tried it). I like the Hornady paste lube; much cheaper than Imperial and I can't tell any difference. Rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid on a rag will remove case lube. Or just toss your brass back in your tumbler for a bit. If you are thrifty, make your own case lube using a 50/50 mix of castor oil and anhydrous lanolin.

I have been using the white petroleum jelly for years. Never had a problem.
