I have lusted over the m14 for since blackhawk down and 3 years ago bought a Norinco. I thought it was really cool and all, until I took it to the range. I was disappointed, it was way to over indexed and the op rod kept falling off the bolt roller and coming out of the channel on the receiver. So needless to say I sent it back on warranty... It's been a year since I last saw it..... So I bought a Springfield Armoury M1a loaded, ss, syn with the NM medium weight barrel.. I am wondering what my best options are for mounting optics? Sadlak, Springfield gen 3 or 4... Or potentially a handguard style scout mount so I can still use stripper clips?

Any input or info is always appreciated

I put the M14.ca mount on my Norinco and my M1A, works great on both but you lose the rear sight and can't use stripper clips. Really like the mount though.

Go with Sadlak or Smith enterprises. I have a sadlak airborne mount on my springfield national match and its definatly the way to go. I also had a smith enterprises on a standard springfield I had back in the day and was rock solid as well.

You can still use the irons with the sadlak mount.

I like the ebr because of the ajustability, and the tight fit in the chassis compared to a regular wood stock (even one that is bedded will expand or contract depending on weather). Only downside is the weight it is heavy but I built this to be a 1k plus rig that you would carry in a pack like the elberstock.

Either way if you decide to go with the ebr or a regular wood stock the sadlak airborne mount is definatly the way to go for mounting optics.
