What is the best cheap ammo you have used. It appears as if I got the bug again and will be buying a .22 soon. I have about 1200 rounds of Federal HP bulk ammo sitting here and was wondering what I should be buying next. It worked fine in my 10-22, but I'm going to buy a Marlin 7000 next.

I find The Dyna Points the best for my 597
The Power Points are also good, they pack a bit more punch but not as consistant as the DP's in all my .22 so far
Rem 597
Norinco woodsman
Coey 75

I use the 510 challengers in my 10/22 with good results.

Before I changed the extracter and hammer the CCI Blazers were the best for me, but that has now changed to Federal Champion High Velocity 40g solids.

remington sub sonic, real quiet and shoot most accurately in my 22

Brian

Ditto on Rem sub sonic. Here are some results in My Webley Mk IV at 25yds:

Rem Target---------------2.5"
Rem sub sonic------------0.9" :D
Win HVHP-----------------1.5"
CCI CB Long-------------4.0"
Fed HVHP copper wash -1.5"
CIL Canuck greased--- -3.0"
american Eagle HV40gr-2.0"

"...I'm going to buy a Marlin 7000 next..." You'll have to start over. No two rifles of any calibre will shoot the same ammo the same way. Not even consecutive serial numbers.

The problem with the low cost ammo,I do not like to say cheap,is you'll get a flyer just about out of every group. For the cost,I love Win Dynapoints if you can find them and CCI blazers and for the flyers,I always wonder if it's the ammo or the wind,or the rifle or .....me.
Good shooting CCIC :?:

+1 for Federal Value Pack. CCI Blazer has also worked very well in all my .22's

CCI MiniMags are worth the extra cost. Come in both 40 solids and HP's.
The jury is still out on which CZ prefers which bullet but it can change from day to day.
Buy as many boxes of 50 as you can and do 5 or 10 shot groups with all.
Keep accurate records and then make your call. Measuring groups to a tenth of an inch will be meaningful,
One rifle's dream is another's nightmare.
When you switch brands it may take a few rounds before your rifle adjusts to the change so that first group might be a throwaway . . . again your call.
Even at $15 for 100 of the new CCI Selects may not qualify as good.
